Trust you say, mmmmm!

But each one of you must love his wife as he loves himself. And a wife must respect her husband.
Ephesians 5:33 ERV

I was riding in the car today thinking about my Husband,  how he is always thinking about the family and what’s best for us.

I used to be able to tell you everything thing that was wrong with him.  I could catalog his transgressions and count off the wrongs he had done with little thought.  The devil helped me keep a running count.

Sometimes I feel like a spoiled brat.  Michael will do something that I don’t understand then I feel like a jerk when he explains things.  Michael wants what’s best for our family and he tries to make sure all of our needs are met.  Out of this desire he has made some bad decisions but now I realize he was trying to make sure we were OK.  I have never in 35 years not had what I needed.  I’ve never been hungry,  homeless or without resources because he has worked like a dog to make ends meet.
He bought me a new car,  it seemed like an impulse decision and I was unsure what to do.  God told me to be still.  Michael felt unsure about his surprise because my reaction did not match his intentions.  Well I just waited and he finally he told me he was worried about me driving the Kia another winter because the Kia did not handle icy weather well.  He went and bought me an all wheel vehicle because he was concerned for my safety.  Here I was ready to be mad that he bought a new vehicle while we are in the middle of a major home renovation but he was only thinking of me.

I say all this to say women,  we may not always understand why our husbands  make some decisions but I challenge you to trust him.  Trust that he is listening to God and has your families best interest in mind. Talk to each other and start to learn how the other thinks, and when you’re not clear, ASK! This situation reminded me that I know this man’s character and we are a team. One team, one fight.

But when God made the world, ‘he made people male and female.’  ‘That is why a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife. And the two people will become one.’ So they are no longer two, but one. God has joined them together, so no one should separate them.”
Mark 10:6-9 ERV

Your worth?

Worth: the value equivalent to that of someone or something under consideration; the level at which someone or something deserves to be valued or rated.

Recently someone asked me what did I think they were worth? I was stunned.  How can I determine your worth?  I promptly told them, I don’t know what your worth is but I know mines. I realized I could have been more diplomatic and told them what God said about thier worth.

For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.
Psalms 139:13-14 NKJV

So now you non-Jewish people are not visitors or strangers, but you are citizens together with God’s holy people. You belong to God’s family.
Ephesians 2:19 ERV

I ask the Father with his great glory to give you the power to be strong in your spirits. He will give you that strength through his Spirit. I pray that Christ will live in your hearts because of your faith. I pray that your life will be strong in love and be built on love.
Ephesians 3:16-17 ERV

It’s like the song says,

You thought I was worth saving
So you came and changed my life

You thought I was worth keeping
so you cleaned me up inside

You thought I was to die for
so you sacrificed your life

So I could be free
So I could be whole
So I could tell everyone I know

Your worth is not tied to this world, it’s tied to Jesus. He knows you are worth dying for.💝

Who can I run to?

The Lord is my Rock, my fortress, my place of safety. He is my God, the Rock I run to for protection. He is my shield; by his power I am saved.  He is my hiding place high in the hills.
Psalms 18:2 ERV

Who do you run to when life gets crazy? Do you run to your best friend in the hope that telling them your troubles will cause them to lessen? Do you run to the bottle hoping that when you get to the bottom all your problems are resolved? Do you run to recreational drugs believing if you get high enough you won’t care? Do you run to your partner for sexual healing believing that any release is better than none?

I would challenge you to run to the Lord, get down on your knees and pray. He has promised to hear you.
“I have told you these things so that you can have peace in me. In this world you will have troubles. But be brave! I have defeated the world!”
John 16:33 ERV

“I have told you these things so that you can have peace in me. In this world you will have troubles. But be brave! I have defeated the world!”
John 16:33 ERV

What these scriptures tell me is to trust Jesus,  pray and believe. Know it in your soul that God’s word cannot return void. If he said it, it is done. He can restore your failing health, your peace and your joy.

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.  Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.  Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
Psalms 51:10-12 KJV

Be blessed, in spite of what you are going through. Know that nothing is impossible with God and as bad as it looks, it’s covered.

And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord , which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.  The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
Exodus 14:13-14 KJV
