I woke up this morning (a praise goes there) and this title was the first conscious thought of the day. I’ve tried to determine what God wanted me to say and I’ve started three times. After much contemplation and many erased words I think this is what I needed to tell you this morning. If you do nothing, if you stand by and watch and don’t act your life will get shattered. You will be living a life where you are shattered, the pieces of your life are held in place and it looks life a whole life but your heart and soul are shattered. I looked at the words Mordecai said to Esther concerning the Jewish people and I’m going to make this personal for me and my family. I would ask that if you agree, you will make it personal too. Add your name to the text .. write it down.
“Sheveze if you keep quiet now, help and freedom for your family will come from another place. But you and your father’s family will all die. And who knows, maybe you have been chosen to be the queen for such a time as this.””

“Then Esther sent this answer to Mordecai: “Mordecai, go and get all the Jews in Susa together, and fast for me. Don’t eat or drink for three days and nights. I and my women servants will fast too. After we fast, I will go to the king. I know it is against the law to go to the king if he didn’t call me, but I will do it anyway. If I die, I die.””

Two important things happened here that can make the difference for me and my family AND you and your family.
- Make a decision to act. I know it’s scary but listen to the word of God that is in your heart and make the move.
- Fast and pray. Don’t do it alone, grab your loved ones and do it together. There is power in prayer and we all know when two or more agree.. yeah
So quick recap and I mean quick, you should go read the book, it’s tantalizing. Esther was a young girl who was groomed to be with the king, she was Jewish. When she was selected she went to the harem and her uncle Mordecai worked for the king but was set up by a man in the kingdom. That man tricked the king into agreeing to kill all the Jews in the land. He asked Esther to intervene on the behalf of the Jews and she was scared but he reminded her she was Jewish too. Esther agreed and she got all of her people to fast and pray and she went to the King. All of the things that were planned for the Jews happened to the people who plotted against them.
Ok I said all that to say this.. give it to God! If you are feeling as if you are in pieces, struggling to understand which way to go, pray with your people and believe with them. I don’t know what God has told you to do for your family, I’m not sure what he is doing in your life but I know you need to do it.
It all matters.. it’s like the song says from Bishop Paul Morton:
Now let me prophesy for a minute
I see you in the future
And you look better
I see you walking in favor and prosperity too
Let me encourage you
Let me speak life to you

You can depend on me to pray for you
