In Every Season

In every season there has been a woman of the Bible whose story was a reflection of my life.

I had my season of “All is well” where I was like the nameless woman in 2nd Kings 4:26 when her situation looked hopeless, she knew if she could get to God it would be ok.

I had my season where I was like Lot’s wife and kept looking back at what God had already delivered me from, thanks be to God he had used up all the salt. I can imagine many of us have looked back when God told us to go forward.

I have been like Mary of Magdalene, who Jesus had to cleanse of demons known and unknown. And much Like Mary, I have decided to follow him, come what may.

But the person I align with the most is me. My story may not be logged into the record book on earth however; my faith says that God has kept a record and my prayer is that when he opens the book on the last day, my name is listed in lambs book of life. My story may not be like yours, I may have taken some turns where you kept straight. I may have gone left when you went right but both journeys have a story to tell and in both stories, we needed the same God. The one we call Emmanuel, the Prince of Peace, Jehovah Jirah, the God who Hagar recognized, the God who sees me, Jehovah-Rapha the God who heals and Yahweh-Hasad the God who forgives.

I am thankful that I can call him by the name that fits my situation. Right now I need the God of Love from Jeremiah 31:3 The God who’s unfailing love never ends and the assurance that comes with it.

“From far away, the Lord will appear to his people. The Lord says, “I love you people with a love that continues forever. That is why I have continued showing you kindness.”

Whatever you need from him in this season, let him be your God! Call him, he hears you.

““The Lord made the earth, and he keeps it safe. The Lord is his name. He says, ‘Judah, pray to me, and I will answer you. I will tell you important secrets. You have never heard these things before.’”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭33‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭ERV‬‬
