You Were Needed

Co-worker: “While on vacation, I got to hold a sloth!”

Me: “A sloth? That’s a real animal?” I started laughing so hard—I truly thought they were fictional! Needless to say, my employees laughed with me. I told them, “I’m a city girl. I don’t venture into places that have sloths.” We laughed and moved on.

Later on…

Me: Wow, God—a sloth?”

God: “Yes, just as there was a need on earth for a sloth, there was a need for you.”

Me: Humbled, grateful, excited, and ready.

I’m ready to share with anyone who will listen:  Yes, the same God who made an exotic creature like a sloth, a breathtaking rainbow across the sky, or a mighty waterfall at the end of a river, saw a need for you too.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

 Psalm 139:14 (NIV)

Often, the enemy uses our past mistakes to convince us that we have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. He pounds us with reminders of every misstep because he needs us to forget that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. He wants us to believe we are unloved and unforgivable so he can stop us from being used by God.

However—I’ve read the end of the book. YOU WIN!

Nothing you have done or that has been done to you can change the fact that God loves you. He created you **for a purpose, on purpose. The one thing the enemy cannot create is life—but God can! You were created in **God’s image and likeness**, and because God is within you, **you cannot fail.**

“Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’”

Genesis 1:26 (NIV)

No matter what, because of WHOSE you are, YOU WIN!

“God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.”

Psalm 46:5 (NIV)

“The Father has loved us so much! This shows how much He loved us: We are called children of God. And we really are His children. But the people in the world don’t understand that we are God’s children because they have not known Him.”
