Sounds kind of weird for a title doesn’t it? Yeah, I was going for the oooh what is this about? reaction. I was listening to one of my favorite gospel songs. It’s called Gravediggers by the Psalmist Reign and The Refresh Team. I am not exactly sure of what it means to others but to me it highlights the fact that God sends people to help us when we are being buried by life. When we are being buried by guilt and shame or feeling less than we are called to be. When we feel inadequate in the things he has called us to do. We tend to forget that he does not call the equipped, he equips whom he calls. We tend to think we have to be perfect for him to use us as gravediggers.
“Such confidence we have through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.”
2 Corinthians 3:4-5 NIV

I read the lyrics below and was reminded of when I saw myself buried in a shallow grave dying slow because I forgot who God called me to be. I allowed the things that happened to me to take over my mind and have more power than the woman who God called me to be. But, like the song says, he sent Gravediggers to free me. He sent people who told me I was beautiful, who reminded me that I was more than a conqueror. He sent people who pushed me to be better, to want more, to expect more, not just from man but from God himself. They reminded me that he created me in his image and his likeness and I was more than enough, hallelujah, that he loves me as is and the things he allowed in my life were not to kill me but so that I could use my experiences to help someone else.. I’m crying tears typing this because even in expressing myself I’m being reminded that he was with me hiding in closets, he was with me when I was being molested, keeping my mind safe. He was with me as I watched my mom be physically and mentally abused. Just like he was with his son on HIS cross, he was with me during my cross experiences. Hallelujah, Thank you God, you are awesome and amazing and your love for me overwhelms me and also heals me. Thank you God.
Thanks for bearing with me as I worship God even in the midst of sharing. Back to my point, do you see yourself in these words?
So,
You might be here tonight
Buried in a shallow grave
Only because
When you looked in the mirror
You couldn’t see
What He Created
You are
Beautiful
You are
Gorgeous
You are
Brilliant
You are
Educated
You are
Wonderful
You are
Made in His image
You are
A glory carrier
You are
But there’s a problem
They came to bury you
And you just
Simply lay down
And let them because of your insecurities
Did you see yourself in any of these areas ? Well let me help you, I am here as a certified gravedigger to tell you to GET UP! You are healed, you are restored. You are beautiful, you are awesome and amazing. The things that you have been through in your life have led you to today, the day of your Exodus. Today you leave that shallow grave and walk into EVERYTHING The Lord has prepared for you.
No, there is no magic potion, your day may look the same but YOU ARE NOT THE SAME! You will begin to see God’s hand at work in your life and accept that yes, he can and yes, he will. You will begin to see how all things that have happened to you are working together to give you an amazing end. Look past your insecurities, look forward into what God has placed in your heart. Yes, you see it, you are walking in favor and prosperity. Yes, you are healed, mentally and physically. Yes, your family will prosper, your children and your children’s children will be benefiting from the blessings God has placed in your heart.
Hallelujah, Yes Lord, we accept. We say yes to your will and yes to your way. Hallelujah Lord, we surrender our faith to you and we ask that you never stop equipping our gravediggers with what is needed. Hallelujah
Y’all I’m a wreck trying to write this, I just want to lay my head down and cry my heart out. Hallelujah Lord and thank you for the Gravediggers you sent me.
