“There is a right time for everything, and everything on earth will happen at the right time. There is a time to be born and a time to die. There is a time to plant and a time to pull up plants.”

In everything we do there is a lesson. I’ve been learning life by living it and sharing my learnings with you. These are my truths not necessarily what is true for you, but I appreciate your time. In April I have buried two loved ones and those deaths has caused me to review what I have learned from staring into a casket.
The first thing I had to accept is that we all have to face this one day. The Lord himself said anyone born of a woman will die. It’s how you live that matters, it’s what people will remember about you that matters. Did you make an impact on others lives or where you a disruption? Be the kind of person that changes peoples lives.
“If you do these things, then those who are not believers will respect the way you live. And you will not have to depend on others for what you need.”
1 Thessalonians 4:12 ERV

I also stared into those caskets and remembered that if you are in Christ, death on earth is not the end. If you died in Christ you have everlasting life and we mourn the passing of our loved ones but we can also rejoice that they lived their lives in such a way as to spend it in eternity with the Lord. Jesus died for sin so anyone who accepted him, they are with him.
“Brothers and sisters, we want you to know about those who have died. We don’t want you to be sad like other people—those who have no hope.”
1 Thessalonians 4:13 ERV

The last thing I want to share is that how you spend your time matters. Don’t be consumed by earthly pleasures because one thing for sure, you can’t take anything with you. We buy all the stuff we see and spend our time working to buy things instead of spending the time enjoying our families and making memories. After you die, memories are all that remain for your loved ones, make them memorable.
“Anything my eyes saw and wanted, I got for myself. My mind was pleased with everything I did. And this happiness was the reward for all my hard work. But then I looked at everything I had done and the wealth I had gained. I decided it was all a waste of time! It was like trying to catch the wind. There is nothing to gain from anything we do in this life.”
Ecclesiastes 2:10-11 ERV

In conclusion, stay focused on what’s real and true. Mourn your loved ones and remember your time together. Lastly, don’t forget that we don’t mourn as people who have no hope, our Lord made a way for us to have everlasting life and that is reason to shout for Joy.
“There is a time to cry and a time to laugh. There is a time to be sad and a time to dance with joy.”
