Y’all, I spent an entire year being 57 and now the clock turns over into a brand new year for me. Looking back I learned a few things last year, nothing new, but new revelations in old stuff.
- God has to be your first priority, whatever name you call him, make him a priority.
- Love yourself first.. even Jesus said love your neighbor as you love yourself. Love yourself so you can love others appropriately.
- Be kind, you never know what people are going through and I assure you, no one will ever regret you being kind to them. But also be kind to yourself, don’t let negative thoughts about yourself thrive.
- Forgive easily, why carry other peoples garbage around? Let it go, forgive and forget so that you are able to live free.
- Save some money, it feels good to have a few dollars in case of emergency.. it doesn’t have to be thousands, do what you can and live in your own tax bracket but save something even if it’s ten dollars a month.
- Pay your tithes, God’s math is better.. that’s it.. trust me on this one.
- Don’t get caught up in other peoples drama. If someone wants you to pray for them, do it. You don’t need the details for the prayer to be effective, you only need to know the need.
- Trust God..
- Laugh daily
- Smile often
That’s it.. nothing new but still meaningful.
I’ve lost some loved ones along the way, I’ve made a few new friends and even lost a few. I’ve seen my church go through a painful rebirth and I’ve even been discouraged at times but through it all, God has been my rock and my salvation.
Thank you to every person who reads the blog, who shares it and follows it.
“You can be sure that anyone who serves the Lord faithfully is special to him. The Lord listens when I pray to him.”
