“At about the same time, the disciples came to Jesus asking, “Who gets the highest rank in God’s kingdom?” For an answer Jesus called over a child, whom he stood in the middle of the room, and said, “I’m telling you, once and for all, that unless you return to square one and start over like children, you’re not even going to get a look at the kingdom, let alone get in. Whoever becomes simple and elemental again, like this child, will rank high in God’s kingdom. What’s more, when you receive the childlike on my account, it’s the same as receiving me. “But if you give them a hard time, bullying or taking advantage of their simple trust, you’ll soon wish you hadn’t. You’d be better off dropped in the middle of the lake with a millstone around your neck. Doom to the world for giving these God-believing children a hard time! Hard times are inevitable, but you don’t have to make it worse—and it’s doomsday to you if you do.”

This scripture captured me this morning, someone really asked Jesus “who gets the highest ranking in heaven?” Do people really think like that? Could you walk with Jesus day in and day out and believe that anyone would be ranked in heaven? This concept caused me to stop and think how easy it is to get caught up in religion. The disciples saw miracles and wonders first hand and still got caught up, so we have to be extra careful to stay focused on the love of Christ when doing the work. We have to be careful with God’s people because we are accountable for our actions.
I have to keep this very simple in my head, when I am faced with struggles, problems, concerns and issues I ask myself one question; “Do I trust God” ? Then I remind myself that ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR MY GOOD, yes, even this. If I believe one thing in the Bible I have to believe it all. Then I ask myself IF GOD IS FOR ME, WHO CAN STAND AGAINST ME?, I keep talking to myself and I say self, IF I TRUST THAT GOD HEARS ME WHEN I PRAY, I KNOW THIS SITUATION IS ALREADY WIRKED OUT, because with God, nothing is impossible.
I made this sound easy didn’t I? It’s not! It’s a daily struggle to remain confident in the Lord. It’s a daily challenge to lift up my head and let my heart be my guide. God called us to love his people, all of them, even the ones that don’t mean right. I truly believe if we set the law down, assume Jesus really died for our sin, assume the law is fulfilled and rely on Love, we could make a difference.
Jesus asked us to love, he asked us to forgive, he asked us to tell the world about him. Let’s be like a child who learned a new story, tell everybody about the love of Christ and be so excited about it that your whole body shines from within and you have a glow. Little kids get so excited, be like them. Tell everybody how good God is and keep it simple, you don’t have to know every scripture, you only have to remember to love.
“If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love. Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut, Doesn’t have a swelled head, Doesn’t force itself on others, Isn’t always “me first,” Doesn’t fly off the handle, Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, Doesn’t revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end.”
