“We must not get tired of doing good. We will receive our harvest of eternal life at the right time. We must not give up. When we have the opportunity to do good to anyone, we should do it. But we should give special attention to those who are in the family of believers.” Galatians 6:9-10 ERV
Recently, I was talking with someone and shared how often I want to quit writing these posts. I get frustrated because it doesn’t appear that my readership is growing or that people even care. I don’t receive much feedback, many likes, or shares, yet I keep posting.
But let me tell you something. Every single time I go to God complaining and saying I need to stop writing, someone messages me or stops me to tell me how valuable these posts are to them.
One lady told me she follows my posts because whenever she feels down, she reads something I’ve written and feels encouraged.
How humbling it is to know that God is using me to reach you! He loves you and cares so much about you that He sends a word through little ole me.
I think about all the soul-shaking events recorded in the Bible and realize that while I didn’t write the Bible, God chooses to use me, too. I think about how God fed the prophet Elijah through a raven, and then I’m amazed to realize He has found a use for me as well.
I bet He’s using you, too.
What has God placed on your heart to do or say? Are you waiting for another word or confirmation of the word He has already given you?
If God has called you, trust Him. I believe He will provide everything you need during this season.
“Then the LORD said to Elijah, ‘Leave this place and go east. Hide near Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan River. You can get your water from that stream, and I have commanded ravens to bring food to you there.’ So Elijah did what the LORD told him to do. He went to live near Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan River. Ravens brought Elijah food every morning and every evening, and he drank water from the stream.” 1 Kings 17:2-6 ERV
I believe there is someone reading this who needs God to move in a situation. Perhaps God has challenged you to do something, but fear has made you hesitate. You’re unsure. You’re confused. Maybe you’re even thinking, I should just give up.
I’m here to encourage you today:
Don’t give up. Look up.
“I look up to the hills, but where will my help really come from?” Psalm 121:1 ERV
“Trust the LORD completely, and don’t depend on your own knowledge. With every step you take, think about what he wants, and he will help you go the right way. Don’t trust in your own wisdom, but fear and respect the LORD and stay away from evil. If you do this, it will be like a refreshing drink and medicine for your body.” Proverbs 3:5-8 ERV
Sometimes God strengthens us through provision. Sometimes He strengthens us through correction.
“The Lord disciplines everyone he loves; he punishes everyone he accepts as a child.” Hebrews 12:6 ERV
“My son, don’t reject the LORD’s discipline, and don’t be angry when he corrects you. The LORD corrects the one he loves, just as a father corrects a child he cares about.” Proverbs 3:11-12 ERV
Whatever season you’re walking through, keep trusting Him. Keep obeying Him. Keep serving Him.
Stay in the fight. Finish the race.
“We should think about each other to see how we can encourage each other to show love and do good works.” Hebrews 10:24 ERV
Have a blessed day.
