When U Pray

The human spirit is the lamp of the Lord that sheds light on one’s inmost being. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭20‬:‭27‬ NIV)

How many masks do you put on in the morning? You probably don’t even think about it. You have your I’m alright mask that you throw on. Then as your heading to work or school you throw that mask on. When you get around a certain group of individuals you throw on a mask to act a certain way around them. The mask to cover up the pain you may be going through. The mask to cover up your insecurities. Let’s not forget the mask covering up your weaknesses.
Well today is the day that you unmask all the pain and all the heavy burdens you may be going through. Trust me when I tell you It’s ok to say no I’m not alright!!! And It’s definitely alright to be YOU!!! God created you in his image. What does that mean? You are fearfully and wonderfully made!! You are purposeful, you can be weak and know that He is strong for you.. Don’t you dare hold your head down thinking you are less than any man or woman!! God is so dope that he created a lane just for you and guess what?! That is where he will bless you!! No need in trying to be like anyone else or compare your life to anyone else. Your life is just as important as theirs!!!
So from this day forward don’t you dare throw on another mask!! Be you!! Face your life challenges boldly!! Love yourself more than anything!! Let that light shine from within its way more beautiful/handsome than any mask that you can possibly throw on❤️

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (‭1 Samuel‬ ‭16‬:‭7‬ NIV )

Ladies you can not impress God with your contoured eyebrows or snatched waist. Fellas God does not care that you have ever pair of Jordan’s, Mek Jeans or a Gucci belt. The things that we do to impress others God is so unbothered by it. He care about what’s on the inside. But if you want to impress him clothe yourself in Dignity, hold your head high, know that you are apart of the kingdom so you shall not lack. Paint on Peace so that you will be able to handle any situation that is brought your way. Cover yourself in respect so that you will treat people the way you want to be treated. Just think, the way you make someone feel will last way longer than the way you look.

Dear Father, I come before you this day thanking you for allowing us to see another day. Thank you for protecting us and our families. Thank you for great health this morning. Father God I ask that the spirit of Vanity be removed from anyone that may be reading this. I ask that the spirit to impress others be removed as well. Father God show us that you are the only way. Help us to impress you. Help us to seek you in any and every situation. Looks fade and waistlines get thick. Help us to love and look at people as you do. Material things don’t matter father!! We can’t take none of those things with us so help us to stop worshipping things. Help us to worship you and only you father!! We love you and adore you!! In Jesus name I pray and ask it all. Amen

Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. (‭Mark‬ ‭8‬:‭34-35‬ NIV)

I know we all want to hear the great miracles that God will perform in our life. We all want heaven doors to open and rain down blessings like never before. But what have YOU done for God lately? The scripture says to pick up your cross and die to self daily. What does that mean you ask?! When you are about to gossip, you don’t. When you are about to betray someone, you don’t. Instead of belittling someone you uplift them. Love more and hate less. I challenge you to figure out what’s more important in your life and act accordingly. If you are constantly saying you are blessed and highly favored I ask you on this day Why?!

Dear father,
I come before you on this day saying thank you for another 24 hours to do your will. I ask for forgiveness for all the sins that I have committed knowingly and unknowingly. Father God I pray that whomever may be reading this has a relationship with you. I hope that truly understand who you are and how you operate. Father I ask that whomever may be reading this be treated as Clay father. Melt them of all the worldly things they have encountered and caused them to be tainted. I ask that you remold them into what you created them to be. Father allow them to face their issues boldly so that they can be corrected. Father I ask that you remove anything from them that may interfere with their relationship with you. Father above all things I pray that they experience the love and comfort that you provide for any situation that they maybe going through. In Jesus mighty name I pray and ask it all. Amen

‭The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (‭Exodus‬ ‭14‬:‭14‬ NIV)

I know every time somebody make you angry, your first reaction is to snap or get on social media to make a post about how mad you are. But it’s time out for that. You don’t need to fight every battle, entertain every argument. Or try to figure out every situation. The Lord said if you have mustard seed faith he can move mountains!!! Do you know how small a mustard seed is?!? It’s insanely small!! So please Be still and trust him with your mountains!!!

*Mountain dealing with bitterness and Jealousy stand on (‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬ NIV) I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.

*Mountain dealing with finances stand on (‭Matthew‬ ‭25‬:‭23‬) “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

*Mountain of depression or weakness stand on (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭9‬ NIV) But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

*Mountain of peace stand on (‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬ NIV) Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

*Mountain of self doubt stand on ‭(Psalm‬ ‭139‬:‭14‬ NIV) I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Now, I know I didn’t even cover a fraction of mountains that need to be moved out of our lives. But I want you to see that for every situation we may be going through the answer is But God!!!! ❤️

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭12‬ NIV)

So my 1-year-old hands me this balled up piece of paper. I open it and it says Hi my name is “Chosen” with the scripture Colossians 3:12 under it. Now I have no clue where she found this and I can’t remember where it came from. However I feel God was speaking to me through her. I was feeling down and actually broken for the way things have been going in my life. I read the scripture and it made me realize. We are hand-picked by God for a reason. No matter what you are going through God has a purpose for you. So whatever situation you may be going through Pray about it and give it to God. Then have the Faith to know that it is handled. We are Kingdom children the only time our head should be down is to admire our shoes!!!! In all things be humble. Rather you have one million dollars in the bank or two dollars. Treat people the way that you want to be treated. Don’t be bitter!! You will not be blessed worrying about someone else blessings. God Chose YOU. Do your part and he will do his!!

For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess. (‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭30‬:‭16‬ NIV)

What if you don’t have tomorrow?.. What if today was it?.. Have you done what God told you to do?! Have you left the man or woman he told you was no good for you? Have you left the dead end job? Have you started that business he told you about? Have you forgave people? Have you apologized for your mistakes? We always think we have tomorrow to get it right. When in reality we don’t know. Do it now!! God wants obedience more than anything!! Don’t stand before him still holding all the gifts that he gave you. Please use them to help others!!!

Dear father,
I come before you with a weary heart. Father I need you like never before. Father you said when I am weak you will be strong. I’m standing on your word with everything that I have. Knowing that your word will never come back void. Father I ask that you send your comfort angel to all the families that are grieving the lost of a loved one. Send the comfort and understanding. Allow them to see your works in every situation!! Send someone to be the light in their dark situation!! Father God I pray for whomever may be reading this that they value life every single second. That they love on their children and family. That they won’t take anything for granted! Father I pray that they have a relationship with you. Father I pray that you give them all the tools needed for them to survive in this crazy world. Those without a mother I ask that you send someone to love on them to help fill that void. The parent that lost a child I ask that you send AGAPE love like never before on them. The person that’s lost a job I pray that you send and increase over their life… The person that lost their home I pray that you send a place for them to stay!! In Jesus mighty name I pray and ask it all!! Amen!!!

Blessed and Highly favored seem to be the new “it” words. I think along the way people may have forgotten the real meaning of a Blessing. So guess what? Im here to help!! When God Bless you, it will not cause a strain on your life. For instance, God will not bless you with a Home you can’t afford, A car payment that you can’t pay for, He does not bless you by giving you someone else man(husband). When you get extra money back from the cashier at the bank or grocery store that’s not a blessing. I think at some point we all get it twisted. See a blessing is being able to WAKE up every morning, being able to open your eyes, move your limbs. Kiss your children, turn the lights on, turn the faucet on and water come out. Open the refrigerator and its food to eat. Now im not saying that God wont bless you with material things im just saying don’t consider whether you are blessed or not by those things. So lets stop evaluating the lives of our friends and family by material things. The girl or guy you may be admiring because he/she has that new Range Rover and a huge house may be admiring you for something simple like a mother or father, family support etc. Focus on God and God alone and I promise you will never be heading in the wrong direction again.

Dear Lord, I come before you on this day as humble as I know how to be. First thanking you for allowing me to see another day. Allowing me to be able to kiss my children and love on them. Thank you for family, Thank you for a job to be able to report too. Thank you for your grace and mercy that you bestow upon us even when we are not worthy. Father I ask that you give us clarity on this day. Allow us to see things as you see them. Help to lead us in the right direction. Help us to understand that we don’t deserve anything that you give us. Help us to stop being vain and selfish. Help us to love or brothers and sisters instead of hating them. In first Corinthians you are very clear on what love is and many of us fail daily. Lord God help us to Love as you love. Help us to understand the meaning of serving(helping) others. Father you are so clear as to how you want us to live our lives in the bible and many of us don’t bother to read or understand it, so on this day I ask that you give us a sound and clear mind to hear your word and to also receive it and apply it to our lives daily. I ask that you continue to be by our side. Father we can not make it without you. I love you father and I adore you. In Jesus name I pray and ask it all. Amen

“With the loving mercy of our God, a new day from heaven will shine on us.

People across the world are celebrating a new year, 2015 is here. I can remember being a teenager thinking that the year 2000 was unimaginable and here we are 15 years into the new millennium. Time waits for no man. 

As a woman  who loves The Lord, I’m excited for 2015 because of the promises of God. 

Sam 12:16…… “…stand and see this great thing which the Lord will do before your eyes…
Luke 18:27……. “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God
Jas 1:4………… “But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing
2Chr 20:17…….. “You will not need to fight this battle. Position yourselves, 
stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you,…”
Rom 8:28………… “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

There are so many promises that I am waiting on, what are you waiting on him for? I challenge you today, this first day in 2015 to expect something from God. Make a demand on the Holy Spirit then wait and see it made manifest in your life.
Phil 1:6…………….. “(Be) confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ,…”

I love each of you on purpose, with purpose for a purpose. 2015 is going to be a great year because we serve a great God!

Luke 2:43-45 ERV
When the festival was over, they went home, but Jesus stayed in Jerusalem. His parents did not know about it. They traveled for a whole day thinking that Jesus was with them in the group. They began looking for him among their family and close friends, but they did not find him. So they went back to Jerusalem to look for him there.

I have been reading a plan in the bible app about Christmas, I read this scripture back on day 8 and it won’t leave me. The key to the message is how many of us has lost Jesus in our lives?

This season is supposed to be about the birth of our Lord, the birth of the gift that keeps on giving. We get so caught up in satisfying the kids every wish that in many cases we have never truly share THE GIFT of Jesus. We talk about Jesus like he is a magician (Tell jesus all your troubles, he will fix it. Cast your worries on the Lord, pay your tithes and he will open the windows, and on and on) so we should not be surprised when our kids expect a show. A show for their birthday, we buy things we can’t afford and invite people who don’t care. A show for Christmas, buying the latest and greatest gift with no thoughts to our children’s financial future, that’s why they expect a show. But the reality is we need to make sure our children understand what the Gift is.

I asked have we lost Jesus because we get so busy being parents, cooking, cleaning, doing homework, going to work, going to church (yes church can be a distraction if it’s just something else you have to do) that we forget to keep our relationship tight with Jesus. Studying the word takes a back seat to often meaningless stuff. Most people know all about the housewives of wherever or love and hip hop but can’t tell you one thing they are expecting from God. We have lost Jesus in our day to day duties and we need to be like Joseph and Mary. We need to go back to where we were with him last and find him. We need to teach our children why it’s important to have a relationship with Jesus. If they can understand the message in the latest ninja turtle movie or the message in Frozen or Hapoy Feet they can understand the message of Jesus.

Let’s grab our families and go back to where we last saw our savior, he is waiting on us with open arms.

Hebrews 10:12-13 ERV
But Christ offered only one sacrifice for sins, and that sacrifice is good for all time. Then he sat down at the right side of God. And now Christ waits there for his enemies to be put under his power.

Since the day we heard these things about you, we have continued praying for you. This is what we pray: that God will make you completely sure of what he wants by giving you all the wisdom and spiritual understanding you need; that this will help you live in a way that brings honor to the Lord and pleases him in every way; that your life will produce good works of every kind and that you will grow in your knowledge of God; that God will strengthen you with his own great power, so that you will be patient and not give up when troubles come. Then you will be happy and give thanks to the Father. He has made you able to have what he has promised to give all his holy people, who live in the light. (‭Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭9-12‬ ERV)

I pray that you will seek a relationship with God, a real relationship that requires you to talk with him, trust him, challenge him and allow him to challenge you. I pray that when things are going bad, you run to him, when things are going good , you run to him. I pray that you are excited to talk to him, to tell him all about what is going on in your life. I pray these things for you because I love you in spirit and in truth and I want you to live a more abundant life in Christ.

I’m not asking you to love God and trust him because of what he has done for me, I’m asking because of what he has done For You! Look back over your life and tell me one situation you worked out for yourself! Yeah I couldn’t find one either.

If you need to start off slow, do that but get started trusting God with everything and then you’ll find he will do anything for you.

I love you on purpose today, with purpose for a purpose.

Whenupray is not just the name of my blog. When you pray to the Lord it should be with great expectation. I pray to God about things that most people would consider stupid, or crazy. I sometimes question why I bother God with all my stuff and then I remember he wants me to. What concerns me concerns him.

God our Father told us that we should bring everything to him in prayer. Don’t worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks for what you have. And because you belong to Christ Jesus, God’s peace will stand guard over all your thoughts and feelings. His peace can do this far better than our human minds. (‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6-7‬ ERV)
Never stop praying. (‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ERV)
Ps 34:10……….”…those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.”
Eph 3:20……….”…(God) is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us…”
I am not asking you to take my word on how this thing works and that is why I showed you what God said about it. I ask that you get it deep down in your spirit because it is the key. A steady, consistent prayer life allows you to stand in the face of tragedy. A steady prayer life allows you to trust even when you don’t understand, it allows you to have peace in the middle of a mess, it allows you to live free from guilt and condemnation. I can tell you that if I stay prayed up, my life is exponentially more rewarding.

The last thing I will say is that when you pray, believe it.
You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure. (‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭2-3‬ NLT)

Hebrews 6:13-19 ERV
God made a promise to Abraham. And there is no one greater than God, so he made the promise with an oath in his own name—an oath that he would do what he promised. He said, “I will surely bless you. I will give you many descendants.”  Abraham waited patiently for this to happen, and later he received what God promised.   People always use the name of someone greater than themselves to make a promise with an oath. The oath proves that what they say is true, and there is no more arguing about it. God wanted to prove that his promise was true. He wanted to prove this to those who would get what he promised. He wanted them to understand clearly that his purposes never change. So God said something would happen, and he proved what he said by adding an oath. These two things cannot change: God cannot lie when he says something, and he cannot lie when he makes an oath. So these two things are a great help to us who have come to God for safety. They encourage us to hold on to the hope that is ours. This hope is like an anchor for us. It is strong and sure and keeps us safe. It goes behind the curtain.

God cannot lie so if during your prayers or during your fast he made you a promise concerning your life and your family,  it will be done. No matter what the situation looks like don’t give up. No matter what people say (you are people too) don’t lose faith. I know how it is when your marriage is in shambles,  your heart is broken and you can’t see the light past your pain, don’t give up, give in. Give in to the power of God that is able to keep you and do the work required for your marriage to be stronger.  Pray and trust that if he promised it,  it WILL be done. Isaiah 55:11 ERV
In the same way, my words leave my mouth, and they don’t come back without results. My words make the things happen that I want to happen. They succeed in doing what I send them to do.
If God told you your children will be blessed,  count on it.  If they are disrespectful and lazy,  parent them trusting that God will do the rest. If your bank account is empty don’t look in it,  keep trusting God and asking for his direction,  trust what he tells you and it will be done. Matthew 9:29 NIV
Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you”;

Ephesians 3:19-20 ERV
Christ’s love is greater than anyone can ever know, but I pray that you will be able to know that love. Then you can be filled with everything God has for you.   With God’s power working in us, he can do much, much more than anything we can ask or think of.
