Our women’s ministry is currently involved in a 7 week secret sister fellowship. When we started I was a little apprehensive about it, wondering if people would really participate and how it would look.
It’s called Sister, I see you. The intent is to pray someone else, pour into someone you would not normally pray for. Reach out to a sister you may not know and encourage them. The guidelines are pretty doable, it’s like pray for them this week, pray for their family, but a small token gift etc. weellllll
These women have blessed me. I have seen an amazing outpouring of love and kindness shown by women old and young. Some of the women participating are the Mothers of the church, some are new members and some didn’t want to do it but stepped out on faith. I’ve had the pleasure of passing gifts back and forth to maintain anonymity and seeing the faces of these women when they are acknowledged is just a blessing. I was reminded of this scripture.
“Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.”
