“Give to others, and you will receive. You will be given much. It will be poured into your hands—more than you can hold. You will be given so much that it will spill into your lap. The way you give to others is the way God will give to you.””

Man, I’ve always seen this scripture in the King James Version and it is normally used in reference to finances and blessings. God has allowed me to look at this from the view of giving to others and the meaning becomes so much richer and deeper.
I’m a relational person so when I can understand a concept from a relationship perspective I can apply it to my life.
Looking at the scripture it says give to others and you will receive much more and it goes on to remind us that the way you give to others also determines how you receive. That is thought provoking for me. It makes me think, if I give freely, with a good heart, I will receive the same way and, if I give grudgingly I may not receive anything. Hmmmm I used this same logic and applied it to the way I pray and think about others. If pray blessings and goodwill I will receive blessings and goodwill but if I prey (not praying) on others, well I can expect to preyed upon in some form.
For me, I’m going to remember that my actions have a direct affect on the outcome of any situation. I’m going to remember to stay focused on what is good and true so that my thoughts toward others will be positive and life affirming.
“Brothers and sisters, continue to think about what is good and worthy of praise. Think about what is true and honorable and right and pure and beautiful and respected.”

I will love freely and openly, I will forgive easily and forget what others have done to me, that’s on them, I’m not holding it. I’m going to let love be my guide, it’s just easier. “Most important of all, love each other deeply, because love makes you willing to forgive many sins.”

I will remember that my actions reflect my heart and that there are always consequences, good or bad. I want good things in my life.
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”
