Confirmation

con·fir·ma·tion
/ˌkänfərˈmāSHən/

noun

  1. the action of confirming something or the state of being confirmed.

“Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.”
Mark 16:20 NIV

I love the Lord — I truly do. When I sit and think about His grace, His mercy, and His never‑ending love, my heart smiles. I was talking to my uncle today, and as conversations often do, I found myself offering him a few words of encouragement. He replied that he had been reading in the book of Acts, and my words lined up exactly with what he had just read. Right then, I felt that sweet confirmation — the reminder that God always confirms His word to us.

I laughed and told him, “I love God because He is so faithful to His word.” And as I thought about how great God is and all the ways He provides, my heart swelled in my chest.

Do y’all remember when He fed a man every single day by sending a raven — the dirty bird — to bring him food?

“Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah: ‘Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine… You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.’ …The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.”
1 Kings 17:2–6 NIV

God confirmed His word with action every day.

Do you remember when the prophet told the widow to gather jars from her neighbors after she ran out of food and money?

“Elisha said, ‘Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few…’ She went and told the man of God, and he said, ‘Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.’”
2 Kings 4:3–4, 7 NIV

Again — He confirmed His word with action.

What has God told you? I challenge you today to look for His confirmation, because if He said it, you can believe it. God doesn’t play about His people. He wants us to grow and prosper. He wants to give us the desires of our hearts as they align with His plan for our lives.

You know God loves you. You know you heard a word from Him. Trust it with your whole heart and soul. He will not fail you.

If He told you to go, start walking.
If He told you to stand, stand and watch Him work.

“Moses answered the people, ‘Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today… The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.’”
Exodus 14:13–14 NIV

“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven… so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
Isaiah 55:10–11 NIV
