When U Pray

It's not how you Pray, it's When U Pray

  • I love your word. Time and again it has been proven true. I am young, and people don’t respect me. But I have not forgotten your instructions. Your goodness is forever, and your teachings can be trusted. Even though I have troubles and hard times, your commands give me joy. Your rules are always right. Help me understand them so that I can live. (‭Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭140-144‬ ERV)

Dear heavenly Father I Thank you for your word that never fails me. I thank you for your mercy that renews every day and for unspeakable joy that sustains me. Lord I need you to help me understand your word when I hear it, give me insight and discernment. I know that some of your words are meant to chasten, some to uplift, some to restore and some to provide direction and instruction. Help me hear the intent you have for me and my life. in Jesus name, Amen.

It’s so easy to hear the words of the crowd when things aren’t going the way you expect. I challenge each of you today to look for instructions from the decision maker, ask him to guide you and trust his decision. When your scared, Trust him! When your hurt, trust Him, when your lost, trust Him! In all things Trust Him! It sounds do easy, because it is. Trust takes practice so start now.

  • Today I tried my hand at creating a scripture prayer. One thing I know about God’s word, it cannot return to him void. So I’m sharing this with you in the hopes that you see God and feel
his presence when you see his word, trust in it and believe.

God, you give true peace to people who depend on you, to those who trust in you. (‭Isaiah‬ ‭26‬:‭3‬ ERV)
This is my prayer for you: that your love will grow more and more; that you will have knowledge and understanding with your love; that you will see the difference between what is important and what is not and choose what is important; that you will be pure and blameless for the coming of Christ; (‭Philippians‬ ‭1‬:‭9-10‬ ERV)
Don’t change yourselves to be like the people of this world, but let God change you inside with a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to understand and accept what God wants for you. You will be able to know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect. (‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ERV)
The Good News shows how God makes people right with himself. God’s way of making people right begins and ends with faith. As the Scriptures say, “The one who is right with God by faith will live forever.” (‭Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭17‬ ERV)
I mean that I want us to help each other with the faith that we have. Your faith will help me, and my faith will help you. (‭Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭12‬ ERV)
The Lord enjoys people who worship him and trust in his faithful love. (‭Psalms‬ ‭147‬:‭11‬ ERV)
But the one who remains faithful to the end will be saved. (‭Matthew‬ ‭24‬:‭13‬ ERV)
Faith is what makes real the things we hope for. It is proof of what we cannot see. God was pleased with the people who lived a long time ago because they had faith like this. Faith helps us understand that God created the whole world by his command. This means that the things we see were made by something that cannot be seen. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭1-3‬ ERV)

  • On the way, there was a woman who had been bleeding for twelve years. She came close behind Jesus and touched the bottom of his coat. She was thinking, “If I can touch his coat, I will be healed.” (‭Matthew‬ ‭9‬:‭20-21‬ ERV)Jesus turned and saw the woman. He said, “Be happy, dear woman. You are made well because you believed.” Then the woman was healed. (‭Matthew‬ ‭9‬:‭22‬ ERV)

I have read this story, been told this story, heard it preached and teached but this morning it told me something else. This morning it reminded me that no matter what the world says, no matter how loud the noise is in your life, no matter how dirty it is, no matter what people say about your situation you can be healed if you believe. Yes, you can decide that enough is enough. You can decide to reach out and touch the hem of the garment. You can choose to ignore the crowd and let you faith make a demand on the promises of God.
Jesus, Jesus Jesus, I come to you this morning saying Thank You. Just Thank You! Hallelujah Thank You!

Don’t bother Jesus (they say you have nothing)
You have nothing to offer (stay in your place)
Right then he knew(he had to choose)
    He had nothing to lose
So he cried Jesus(Jesus), I need you, (yeah ah) please don’t pass me by
He cried out Jesus, I’m not ashamed(to tell you) I need you in my life
(I need you in my life yeah)

Fred Hammond – Please Don’t Pass Me By Lyrics

Don’t let him pass you by!

  • My people are hurt, so I am hurt. I am too sad to speak. Surely there is some medicine in Gilead. Surely there is a doctor in Gilead. So why are the wounds of my people not healed? (‭Jeremiah‬ ‭8‬:‭21-22‬ ERV)

Father, we need the balm in Gilead to heal our souls. My sisters in Christ are facing untold dangers in our homes, at work, in the church and worst of all in our minds. Accept this scripture prayer, knowing your word cannot return to you without doing it’s intended purpose. Hallelujah Amen in Jesus name, Amen.

  • The Father had given Jesus power over everything. Jesus knew this. He also knew that he had come from God. And he knew that he was going back to God. (‭John‬ ‭13‬:‭3‬ ERV)

It’s something to know that you know that you know that you are from God. When you know who’s you are you act different. When life gets rough you stand on what you know. You stand on the word of God and you let him handle those things that you are faced with. When you are in trouble you know who calms the stormy seas. When your afraid you know who gentles the lions roar and allows you to rest in the presence of danger. When you are in the fiery furnace you know who can keep you from burning. When people plot and throw you in ditches, you know who has made a way for you to escape.

Trust in The Lord in all things, for they are working for your good.

Dear Father, this morning I pray that your peace is sufficient to your children this day. Father allow us to rest in the assurances you have provided. We love you Lord and praise your name. We treasure the relationship we have with you that allows us to trust even when we are afraid, to rest when we are tired and to love unlimited. Hallelujah Father, I ask these things in Jesus name, Amen.

  • God’s Word is our life

God’s Word is our very life!

“The Word of God well understood and religiously obeyed is the shortest route to spiritual perfection. And we must not select a few favorite passages to the exclusion of others. Nothing less than a whole Bible can make a whole Christian.”

    –A.W. Tozer

  • The Good News shows how God makes people right with himself. God’s way of making people right begins and ends with faith. As the Scriptures say, “The one who is right with God by faith will live forever.” (‭Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭17‬ ERV)

    Hallelujah goes right there.

I ask each of you today to renew your commitment to Yourself. The day you turned your life over to Christ was the day you realized you could not do this alone. The day you realized there was more to life than what you were seeing. The day you realized you deserved more. “My soul gave up all hope, but then I remembered the Lord. I prayed to you, and you heard my prayers in your holy Temple. (‭Jonah‬ ‭2‬:‭7‬ ERV)

I struggle sometimes with many things but my faith is not one of them. God has brought me through so many challenges and concerns that it finally dawned on me….He Got This! Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” (‭Joshua‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ NKJV)

We have to gird each other, as people of God we have to continue to have patience with each other, we have to remember we are all taking this walk but no one is in the same place on the path. God decides when we move to the next level. I mean that I want us to help each other with the faith that we have. Your faith will help me, and my faith will help you. (‭Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭12‬ ERV)

  • “If you love only those who love you, should you get any special praise for doing that? No, even sinners love those who love them! If you do good only to those who do good to you, should you get any special praise for doing that? No, even sinners do that! If you lend things to people, always expecting to get something back, should you get any special praise for that? No, even sinners lend to other sinners so that they can get back the same amount! “I’m telling you to love your enemies and do good to them. Lend to people without expecting to get anything back. If you do this, you will have a great reward. You will be children of the Most High God. Yes, because God is good even to the people who are full of sin and not thankful. Give love and mercy the same as your Father gives love and mercy. (‭Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭32-36‬ ERV)

This scripture is so amazing to me because it reminds me that God is challenging us to look outside of ourselves and be better. I look at how quickly we judge others by our standards. If we “work hard” if we “struggled to get where we are” if we got married before we had kids” if we lived this certain way we want others to do the same. Well this reminds me that I only need to love them as is, the same way I want to be loved. I want to be different than those I label a sinner, cause God can change their status in the blink of an eye!

  • I get up early in the morning to pray to you. I trust what you say. (‭Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭147‬ ERV)

How many of us can’t function in the morning until we get our coffee, Tea, Mountain Dew, Pepsi or Coke? (Raises hand shamefully) it’s like an extra pep in your step, that oooh yeah. Most days it’sneeded to get us going. Let’s face it, we all lead very busy lives. Work, School, family, church, outside organizations, wellness and many other pressures. We wear ourselves down to the bone, fall in bed at night, toss and turn until we fall out the bed in the morning, or is that just me?

We need something (Non Chemical) to help boost the system. Have you ever tried to kick that habit? Coffee, Tea or Pop? Yeah me too, I always feel like a failure after I pour that coffee and get it just right, then I take a sip and my entire being sings. Oh yeah I got it bad.

Now walk with me a little and imagine if we had that same thirst for Jesus. I can imagine that he would give us the strength to endure what the world throws at us, that he would give us peace to help us when it gets tough, I can imagine he would give us love unlimited to share with the people we encounter during the day. Don’t trust what I say about it, his word is everlasting and this is what he said about it! Give him your morning and he will provide all day. You will never feel guilty that you used his word for that extra pep!

We are still alive because the Lord ’S faithful love never ends. Every morning he shows it in new ways! You are so very true and loyal! (‭Lamentations‬ ‭3‬:‭22-23‬ ERV)

“I leave you peace. It is my own peace I give you. I give you peace in a different way than the world does. So don’t be troubled. Don’t be afraid. (‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭27‬ ERV)

Praise the Lord, you who are loyal to him! Praise his holy name! His anger lasts for a little while, but then his kindness brings life. The night may be filled with tears, but in the morning we can sing for joy! (‭Psalms‬ ‭30‬:‭4-5‬ ERV)

  • “Don’t worry and say, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ That’s what those people who don’t know God are always thinking about. Don’t worry, because your Father in heaven knows that you need all these things. What you should want most is God’s kingdom and doing what he wants you to do. Then he will give you all these other things you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Tomorrow will have its own worries. (‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭31-34‬ ERV)

What thoughts go through your mind when you read that? Don’t worry about things? Is it a reminder God is in control? Does knowing this scripture or standing on it challenge your way of thinking about spending money or saving it? This scripture is often quoted, misquoted and overused. What is God challenging us to do? I don’t think he is saying don’t try and improve yourself or don’t be good stewards over what he has provided you with.

I am looking at my current/past situations in life. Many of my greatest worries came from worrying about money, how to get it, how to spend it or how to manage when I have overspent. (Credit card debt). I look at my current issues and I have so many shoes I’ve run out of space, so many clothes that even Pinterest can’t help with storage solutions. WHY? I need to start applying God’s word to new areas of my life. I need to challenge my thinking in all areas of my life and start to realize that the scripture is not limited to just my religious beliefs but All THINGS!

Do you segregate your life into specific areas for God to Fix? You know, dear Lord here is my marriage, fix that. Apply every scripture until it means your with the right guy. Dear Lord, make my kids act right, every word out your mouth is used to show your kids how great a Christian you are which then makes you a great parent and God is gone get “them” if they don’t line up with the word. Oh yes God is gone fix those bill collectors too, your going to pray and tithe and he will open a window and pour out a blessing. Boxed in…oh yeah we all fall victim to the concepts of God but I’m ready for something new..You must be made new in your hearts and in your thinking. Be that new person who was made to be like God, truly good and pleasing to him. (‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭23-24‬ ERV)

I’m getting ready to embark on a new journey filled with allowing God into those places that traditionally we have said he is not needed. You know, in our real finances, I’m not talking about tithes I’m talking about being a good steward of what you have. Money, time and your gifts.

“Don’t save treasures for yourselves here on earth. Moths and rust will destroy them. And thieves can break into your house and steal them. Instead, save your treasures in heaven, where they cannot be destroyed by moths or rust and where thieves cannot break in and steal them. Your heart will be where your treasure is. (‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭19-21‬ ERV)

  • Jesus was preparing to leave in the boat. The man who was now free from the demons begged to go with him. But Jesus did not allow the man to go. He said, “Go home to your family and friends. Tell them about all that the Lord did for you. Tell them how the Lord was good to you.” (Mark 5:18, 19 ERV)p

There are many times that I have looked at what I was going through and could not make any sense of it. I looked at how my life went from happy to sad, marriage went from fun, loving and supportive to defensive, dead and unproductive. I could not understand why God saw fit to allow me to go through the things I went through. But now I’m in the By and By…the old southern hymnal said you will understand it better by and by. I look at where I was spiritually and how there came a day that I had to trust God, whole heartily no reservation Trust God. I had no one to depend on, I felt lost and alone and there was no one but God. By and by, I realize how else would I learn to lean on God if I was never challenged to lean on God? How could he restore my marriage unless it was broken, how could he strengthen me unless I was weakened?
Tell somebody what God did for you so they can get to their by and by.

  • So I tell you, you are Peter. And I will build my church on this rock. The power of death will not be able to defeat my church. I will give you the keys to God’s kingdom. When you speak judgment here on earth, that judgment will be God’s judgment. When you promise forgiveness here on earth, that forgiveness will be God’s forgiveness.” (Matthew 16:18, 19 ERV)

On this rock I will build my church..I am the Rock are you? I’m walking in faith and trusting God for many things. I am convinced, I have decided, I am fully persuaded that God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly in my life. I am convinced that all things work to the good for those that love God and are called according to his purpose. I know I have a purpose because I am still here in my right mind in spite of my bad choices, in spite of my ignorance and despite my evil nature. I’m standing on the word that said to me All Is Well! That tells me that no matter what it looks like to my worldly eye I am still ok. I am blessed, healed, delivered and any other word that covers my well being. The statement All is Well has kept me because it means I accept that God is in charge. I accept his will for me and I challenge you to do the same. Jesus told Peter he would build his church on that rock, Peter was the rock and so am I.

And I pray that you and all God’s holy people will have the power to understand the greatness of Christ’s love—how wide, how long, how high, and how deep that love is. Christ’s love is greater than anyone can ever know, but I pray that you will be able to know that love. Then you can be filled with everything God has for you. With God’s power working in us, he can do much, much more than anything we can ask or think of. (Ephesians 3:18-20 ERV)

  • Jesus answered, “You were not able to make the demon go out, because your faith is too small. Believe me when I tell you, if your faith is only as big as a mustard seed you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. You will be able to do anything.” (Matthew 17:20 ERV)

I decided to look up a masted seed?
Mustard seeds are the small round seeds of various mustard plants. The seeds are usually about 1 or 2 mm in…

What this says to me is I can do anything if I believe a little bit. It started me to thinking of worldly things that I put faith in all the time. How many of us have faith in our paycheck? We have so much faith in it coming when the job said it would that we make plans and major decisions based on the fact that we know it is coming. We tell bill collectors “I can pay you on X day, because that is when I get my check. We promise our spouse and our children things based on when this magical event happens. We put faith in our retirement. How many times do you see and hear of people making plans for a retirement that is not promised? They buy that vacation home or save all this money for retirement. We put major faith into anything google says, we put an address in google maps and then blindly follow wherever it takes us.

Imagine what could happen if we put that same measure of faith into Jesus. What if we counted on him doing what he said he would do..you know like
“Come to me all of you who are tired from the heavy burden you have been forced to carry. I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28 ERV)

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. (Matthew 6:31, 32 NKJV)

What if we trusted in our faith enough to face our fears?
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (II Timothy 1:7 NKJV)

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1 NKJV) we only need to take one step in faith and God will do the rest. Test what I say, don’t trust me anymore than you trust google, Trust God and challenge him in your life to do what he said he would do.
The LORD of hosts has sworn, saying, “Surely, as I have thought, so it shall come to pass, And as I have purposed, so it shall stand: (Isaiah 14:24 NKJV)
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:11 NKJV)

    Trust him!

  • The bible says:
How hard it is to find the perfect wife. She is worth far more than jewels. Her husband depends on her. He will never be poor. She does good for her husband all her life. She never causes him trouble. She is always gathering wool and flax and enjoys making things with her hands. She is like a ship from a faraway place. She brings home food from everywhere. She wakes up early in the morning, cooks food for her family, and gives the servants their share. She looks at land and buys it. She uses the money she has earned and plants a vineyard. She works very hard. She is strong and able to do all her work. She works late into the night to make sure her business earns a profit. She makes her own thread and weaves her own cloth. She always gives to the poor and helps those who need it. She does not worry about her family when it snows. She has given them all good, warm clothes. (Proverbs 31:10-21 ERV)

As I read all this I thought about what we expect versus what God’s word shows us. Many of us did not have real examples of being a Godly wife. Let’s face it many of our mothers were not married or they had men that were not truly leading and guiding the family in a spirit filled home. I don’t know about your mom but mines was hard in the yard, she made it happen for us and men were used and discarded and very rarely was any respect shown or given. My aunts were unmarried my grandparents had crazy relationships. How was I going to learn to be a wife amiss all this? I had to learn the hard way, trial and error. But what changed it all for me was getting to know God. Having a relationship with The Lord changed my relationship with my husband. I’ve learned when to press my point and when to let God handle it. I’ve watched my husband grow in The Lord because he saw me trusting and standing on the word. God can change anyone and he will honor his commitment to your marriage. You formed a covenant with him and he is faithful even when you aren’t. To be the best wife you can be means trusting his word on your marriage and trusting the process. It won’t be changed over night, no you won’t always know what to do and say and no your husband won’t miraculously be changed because you read this but what do you have to lose?
