When U Pray

It's not how you Pray, it's When U Pray

  • As you enter the wife phase,
This is my prayer for you: that your love will grow more and more; that you will have knowledge and understanding with your love; that you will see the difference between what is important and what is not and choose what is important; that you will be pure and blameless for the coming of Christ; (Philippians 1:9, 10 ERV)

If you have chosen to accept this man as the head of your life you will need more than love. You will need to make a vow right here and now to keep everyone out of your business. No girlfriends, besties, day ones, mothers, fathers, brother or sisters. Your mate should be your number one, your only. When your man falls short of your expectations in ANY AREA, fall to your knees. Tell God your concerns and ask for the peace of your salvation to sustain you until God’s will is made manifest in that man. If your faith is as small as a mustard seed, stand on the word of God and see how great is our God. I am not promising that he will change your husband but I am saying he is able. Don’t despair, it may be you he changes. Keep God in your decisions and in your indecision he will make a way.

Remember to pick your battles, you need not win every fight, you don’t even have to fight every fight. It’s OK to allow time to cool your thoughts so your conversations can be productive. No real decisions can be made in anger. A wife’s role can be wonderfully fulfilling if you accept that you need to trust God and be faithful to your husband and to God.

  • The honeymoon is over and real life begins. You have to actually be a wife. I’m not talking about sexing the man to death, really he can get that anywhere. I’m not talking about cooking the best fried chicken and greens either. Both of those items are necessary for the survival of the marriage but the reason he chose YOU to be his wife is not because of those things. His wife should be a person who loves him, as is, no warranty, black black no trade back. If he never changes, if he never makes more money or has more drive and ambition you love him. He is expecting you to understand what he can’t say, be there for him no matter what. It sounds like a lot, almost unreasonable but there it is, the truth.

    Remember this:
Wives, be willing to serve your husbands the same as the Lord. A husband is the head of his wife, just as Christ is the head of the church. Christ is the Savior of the church, which is his body. (Ephesians 5:22, 23 ERV)

Marriage is work, it means sometimes you have to be quiet and let that man be “The Man”. You have to allow him to make the decision and support it, do whatever you can to make his dream a reality. Get on board ladies, it’s time for us to take our rightful place in the marriage. We are called to be a helpmeet, not the director but the assistant to the director. Pray for that man, trust that God is God Enough for him. Trust that the God who you formed a covenant with knows what you are in need of, He also knows what your man needs to lead your family. Trust the process’!

  • If your excited about being married, this message is not for you. If your ready to be a wife, listen close.

I know many women who are doing whatever it takes for a man to get “A Rock”. Should the carat weight of the diamond be a reflection of his love for you. I’m curious, what represents your love for him? Are you truly ready to be that Proverbs 31 woman? Have you ever looked at what God is calling you to be?

I know weddings are beautiful. The church is decorated, the ladies are looking stunning, the groomsmen are tapered and shaven and those flower girls with their little faces all aglow and the ring bearer crying up the aisle way is adorable. The cake is a beautiful rendition of white confection and flowers, the Food is well planned and delicious. Weddings are great, marriage is work.

The church is now cleared of trellises, glitter and flowers. On the way out of the door they
look back to make sure it’s ready for Sunday’s sermon, they turn off the lights…..fade to darkness.

The hall is now rid of backdrops, food tables, streamers and balloons. The DJ has packed up the music and the lights go off…fade to darkness

    Now what is the plan?

Come back tomorrow for part 2

  • You have known the Holy Scriptures since you were a child. These Scriptures are able to make you wise. And that wisdom leads to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by God. And all Scripture is useful for teaching and for showing people what is wrong in their lives. It is useful for correcting faults and teaching the right way to live. Using the Scriptures, those who serve God will be prepared and will have everything they need to do every good work. (2 Timothy 3:15-17 ERV)

I was asked the other day to share what scripture I was standing on, there are so many that it was difficult to decide. I use many scriptures to help me make it through difficult times.

When I don’t understand what’s happening and my spirit is low I have to remind myself with
Rom 8:28………… “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
    Or this one
John 16:33……… “In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

When my soul is weary and I feel as if I can’t go on I remember
Josh 1:9………… “Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed,
for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
    And
1Chr 22:18…….. “And has He not given you rest on every side?”
    Oh yeah and,
2Chr 20:17…….. “You will not need to fight this battle. Position yourselves,
stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you,…”

When I get weary with my calling I need to remember

Col 3:23………. “Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,…

When the world tells me no, well I say, Eph 3:20……….”…(God) is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us…”

When my needs exceed my income I remind myself,
Mt 6:8…………”your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.”
    And
And Ps 34:10……….”…those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.”
    Oh yeah and never forget
Phil 4:6……….”Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let you requests be made known to God; …”

So this is just a glimpse of how I handle this crazy worlds Oh how I love The Lord, his word and his works are perfect.

  • The sower sows the word. (Mark 4:14 NKJV)

It’s a known fact you are what you speak.. So what are you speaking over your life daily?!! Are you planting words of prosperity, growth, happiness etc etc… Or are you trying to keep up with the rap lyrics you hear or the crazy friend that always got some drama going. It’s time out for all that. It’s time to get rid of people that’s not helping you prosper. Yeah you love them, yeah that’s your friend from way back. But if they in the same position, living the same messy life that they were living last year it’s time to go!!! It’s literally life or death.. Spiritually… Trust me, whatever you plant will harvest. Rather good or bad.. Let’s together make a conscience decisions to live the right way. No matter what it takes…

Lord God we bow humbly before your thrown. We thank you for waking us up this morning. We thank you for allowing us to see another day. Father God we ask that you go before us today. We ask that you set the atmosphere. We ask that you align our day up with the will that you have for us. Father God allow people to see you and not us in every situation today. Father God help us to speak life over everyone we come in contact with today. Father help us to remain positive in every situation. We love you Lord and we thank you. In Jesus name we pray and ask it all!! Amen…

  • To my daughters and sisters in Christ, count your troubles all joy.

“I must say something. Would it upset you if I speak? Job, you have taught many people. You encouraged those who were ready to quit. Your words helped those who were ready to fall. You gave strength to those who could not stand by themselves. But now trouble comes to you, and you are discouraged. Trouble hits you, and you are upset. You worship God. You trust him. You are a good man, so let that be your hope. (Job 4:2-6 ERV)

Rom 8:28………… “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

Phil 1:6…………….. “(Be) confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ,…”

Jas 1:4………… “But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

I tell you this to encourage you because when you are in the middle of something it is easy to get discouraged, to feel as if God abandoned you or forgot you. Never fear my loves he knows what you need, he knows if you need to be strengthened, torn down, rejuvenated, humbled or need peace and because he loves you, he gives you that. It may seem harsh or unfair but when you look back, you will understand it was exactly what needed to happen. Many of us are stubborn and prideful and full of righteous thoughts and a clearly defined sense of right and wrong and woe to any who cross us. I’ve learned that many of my lessons were used to make me more compassionate, more open to others pain or situations. I don’t know why your going through but I know this:

Mark 9:23…….. “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.

Josh 1:9………… “Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed,
for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

1Chr 22:18…….. “And has He not given you rest on every side?”

2Chr 20:17…….. “You will not need to fight this battle. Position yourselves,
stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you,…”

  • Who do you love?

    (Mary J Blige )
I’ve got to have a real love
Love so true and oh, baby
I thought that love was you
I thought you were the answer
To the question in my mind
But it seems that I was wrong
If I stay strong maybe I’ll find a real love!

Guess what, that real love has to start in you. Well, I may have that wrong, the real love started on the cross. You must recognize what love is before you can find it. If love looks abusive, guess what, you find an abuser. If love looks like money, you find a sugar daddy. If love looks like selfishness, you’ll find that. I may give away everything I have to help others, and I may even give my body as an offering to be burned. But I gain nothing by doing all this if I don’t have love. Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, and it is not proud. Love is not rude, it is not selfish, and it cannot be made angry easily. Love does not remember wrongs done against it. Love is never happy when others do wrong, but it is always happy with the truth. Love never gives up on people. It never stops trusting, never loses hope, and never quits. (1 Corinthians 13:3-7 ERV)

    Who do you love?

God proved his love at Calvary when he gave his only son so you could understand love. If your looking for a real love try Jesus. His love is so powerful it heals hurts, cleans up the mess in your life, delivers you from sin, restores your joy, gives you peace and most of all teaches you how to love.

  • Dear Father,

I come to you with bowed head and humble heart. Hear my cry Lord I need you. I have been asking for a word to give your daughters but I think I can’t hear you because I’m asking for the wrong thing, I need to hear from you. Lord I love you and I’m asking that you send your angels to encamp around my family. Our children are under attack from many directions but I declare and decree that no more! No more Lord, I’m planting your flag in the sand and I’m asking that you honor this stance, the devil cannot have our children, not their minds, not their thoughts, not their hearts and not their souls. Lord you said if my people who are called by name will turn from their wicked ways, humble themselves and pray then you would hear from us and heal our land. Lord we are humbly begging you to heal our land and protect our children. I ask these things in the name of Jesus because that’s all I know how to do. I’m trusting you Lord and trusting the process. All things work to the good for those that love you so I know these troubles are not in vain and in the end..we win. Yes, the fight is fixed!

  • 12 “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you

I was literally driving down I-75 in tears thinking about my mom. I miss her yes I do. My mother loved me so much, she sacrificed EVERYTHING for me and my brother, even her dignity.
BUT GOD, he sent so many women to help me and guide me, many of you shared your mom’s with me, I’m scared of water damage to my phone as I think of them. The ladies who said, come eat baby, there is plenty of food. The ladies who said don’t act like that, your to pretty to be fighting all the time. The ladies who said don’t worry about it baby, stay here tonight. The ladies who said sit your hot tail down somewhere. The ladies who just hugged me because even though I never told, they knew. I honor not just my mother, but all the mothers along the way who helped shape me. I still have new mothers helping me in my adulthood and words can’t express my absolute joy.

  • Wives, be willing to serve your husbands. This is the right thing to do in following the Lord. (Colossians 3:18 ERV)

If you talk to me for any length of time you will hear me talk about my husband. If you hear me talk about him a lot you will probably start to think that I believe he is perfect. I’m not kidding, he is a great husband. But don’t be mislead, that does not mean he is without flaws. Often when I tell people we have been together for 30+ years people think we stayed together because it’s been nearly perfect. Oh no, don’t believe that, it’s been far from perfect, in fact if you’ve been around us a long time you might question our sanity. lol trust me, I love him and he completes me.

    What I’ve learned:
Wives, be willing to serve your husbands the same as the Lord. A husband is the head of his wife, just as Christ is the head of the church. Christ is the Savior of the church, which is his body. (Ephesians 5:22, 23 ERV)
It was a painful lesson, (head down, humbled). I used to complain about what was wrong with him (only because I was perfect) and focus on what he wasn’t doing. That was just plain dumb but hey, I did not know any better. There were very few married couples in my family and the ones that were married probably shouldn’t have been. IJS so I did not have any examples to guide me, there was no YouTube to help me. I spent so much time complaining about what was wrong that I missed what was right. He made some bad choices when we were younger and I did too. God reminded me of something important, my husband loves me. Oh yes he does and he will do anything to make sure I’m ok, my daughter and I helped define him and he cherishes our love.

When I found this scripture I knew I had found a definition of my husband.

And husbands should love their wives like that. They should love their wives as they love their own bodies. The man who loves his wife loves himself, because no one ever hates his own body, but feeds and takes care of it. And that is what Christ does for the church (Ephesians 5:28, 29 ERV)

I challenge each of you, go back and remember why you said Yes to your husband. Catalog all the things that you love about them and all the things that they do to make you better. Don’t write a list of what they do wrong, who cares, if you trust God (and I know you do) he is working on that man just like he is working on you. You can’t rush God to make him better, he is already great and God will just smooth the edges and heal the wounds so his greatness can shine brighter. Be the light that God created you to be so he can find his way home if he gets lost. These streets are rough, life can wear on you with bills, kids, aging parents and so much more.
But each one of you must love his wife as he loves himself. And a wife must respect her husband. (Ephesians 5:33 ERV)

Hey, did you happen to see my sweet baby?
He was walkin on down the road
Tell him for me that if you see him tonight
    Everything is alright
’cause I know how he gets when he’s low
    Oh, he’s a beautiful man
    Kinda hard to understand but
He’s the only good man that I know
Won’t you tell him for me
I’m keepin a light shinin in the window
Just in case he decides to come home!

  • My brothers and sisters, God chose you to be free. But don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do what pleases your sinful selves. Instead, serve each other with love. The whole law is made complete in this one command: “Love your neighbor the same as you love yourself.” If you continue hurting each other and tearing each other apart, be careful, or you will completely destroy each other. (Galatians 5:13-15 ERV)

We love to be in love…as little girls and boys we played house..remember that? I’m the mama and your the daddy and you love me. So cute

As teenagers we were in and out of love with this cute person or the next, they called it puppy love..cute

As adults we fall in love with the person who shows us some affection and care, we build a world around them and keep our expectations high. We are in love so you must meet all my expectations, even if I never shared them with you. We are in love so I need you to trust me, take care of me, fix the toilet, paint the house, rub my back, protect me, leave me alone, give me my freedom, give me your money, take care of me, love me, put me first, don’t expect to be my priority and above all be faithful. I got tired writing all of that. Love, so cute

Ok, back to reality. Learn to love yourself. I mean truly learn to accept who you are in Christ and as a person, flaws and all. It’s not easy but start with accepting that God made you and his works are perfect! Yes, your perfectly You! Accepting who you are and allowing God the freedom to mold you frees you up to love yourself then and only then you can love others without your love strangling the life out of them. Allow God to perfect the love do it will last and above all, Do No Harm!

    I’ve been long winded sorry!

  • So this is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, we pray that your name will always be kept holy. We pray that your kingdom will come— that what you want will be done here on earth, the same as in heaven. Give us the food we need for today. Forgive our sins, just as we have forgiven those who did wrong to us. Don’t let us be tempted, but save us from the Evil One.’ (Matthew 6:9-13 ERV)

There is joy in this prayer, it tells us to keep God Holy, let his perfect will be done in our lives, forgive everyone who hurt us, to trust That God will make sure our needs are met and that he will keep the devil off our backs.. I could shout right now. How easy is it to forget that a simple prayer is all we need to feel relieved from the burdens of our lives? Or that just saying the name Jesus in our mind can calm the stormy seas of our thoughts? Or that if we whisper in our spirit that God can hear our deepest fears and he will protect us? Oh how I love the name Jesus, it is the sweetest name I know.. Y’all I’m praising him cause I still have breathe in my body..hallelujah

  • In our prayers we always thank God for you. He is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. We thank him because we have heard about the faith you have in Christ Jesus and the love you have for all of God’s people. Your faith and love continue because you know what is waiting for you in heaven—the hope you have had since you first heard the true message, the Good News that was told to you. Throughout the world, this Good News is bringing blessings and is spreading. And that’s what has been happening among you since the first time you heard it and understood the truth about God’s grace. (Colossians 1:3-6 ERV)

Good morning my sisters and brothers in Christ, this message was written hundreds of years ago yet it is still relevant today. How great is our God that he has written a living word that keeps us down through the ages. I
Implore you to keep the faith, stay the course and trust in what God told you. Keep loving The Lord and his people; It really is about the love. Be kind to one another in your thoughts and your intentions. Always assume the best intentions no matter what it looks like because it’s easy to misunderstand each other. We are so literal in our expectations even when we are lax in our own ways. I guess I’m just saying that you know what it’s like to be misunderstood so be understanding, cause you reap what you sow. Keep being the living word, when you are faced with trouble, trust God and then tell somebody how he brought you out, they need to hear how great is our God so they can stay encouraged.

I love you, I do I do! To God be the glory.

Dear father I have a short prayer this morning, I just pray that you keep us in perfect peace this day so we stay out of your way as you work all these things out for our good. in Jesus name, Amen.

  • Who do you call when your lonely, hurt, scared, or in need?

The true children of God are those who let God’s Spirit lead them. The Spirit that we received is not a spirit that makes us slaves again and causes us to fear. The Spirit that we have makes us God’s chosen children. And with that Spirit we cry out, “ Abba, Father.” (Romans 8:14, 15 ERV)

Abba Father, I come to you this morning seeking your face, asking for your peace and unspeakable joy. I ask that your spirit guide me through the path you have laid for me, fully understanding that the enemy may have planted land mines along the way, he may have planted disappointments along the way, he may have planted hurt and despair but your spirit is with me and nothing is impossible. I love you Lord and I trust that you know the plans you have for me and if you guide me I won’t fall into the traps set by the enemy but I will be rewarded with the perfect gifts you have set aside for me. I know that I am fearfully and wonderfully made and you want what’s best for me. I willfully submit to the process and will praise you through it all. Hallelujah in Jesus name, Amen.

  • “I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.”(Philippians 4:11)

We are in times of I want this and I want that. And the funny thing is we want everything right NOW. I know im guilty. In my mind right now im trying to figure out how to get a Range Rover but I barely Keep the car clean that I have now. How can we keep asking God to bless us with more money, bigger houses, better this and better that when we not good stewards over the stuff he already gave us. We have to learn to be content in any and every situation. Life is not about ALL the STUFF you can get.(not saying your not suppose to have nice things) but ask yourself how are any of those things helping you bring others to christ? ITS NOT ALL ABOUT YOU!!! I had to learn that the hard way. God created us for a purpose on purpose and its not to be the baddest whatever.. So lets be purposeful in all things..

    Lord,

I come to you on this day asking that you deplete whomever may be reading this of their selfishness. I ask that you allow them to see that you created them for a reason. That you have great plans for their life. That you love them more than anyone on this earth can. Father God I ask that guide them in the right direction. Father help us all to understand that we dont need material things to be whole. Father God help us to understand that nothing on the outside will allow us into the kingdom. Help us to have the patience of Job to wait for you and your direction. Help us to have a heart of love and giving. Help us to trust you as Abraham did. Father on this day we surrender all to you. Father we love you and adore you. Father God please forgive us for all the sins that we have committed knowingly and unknowingly. In Jesus mighty name we pray and ask it all… AMEN
